I la batterie vengono da Berlino. Sono in 3, anne [drums piano melodica vocals], pascal [guitar piano groovebox vocals], mario aperdannier [piano groovebox].
con pochi accordi e tanta ritmica riescono a creare canzoni irresistibili. E’ forse l’approcio alla canzone, alla canzone pop è veramente tanto sbilenco.
Pascal si occupa anche di installazioni e Anne dipinge. Pascal, Anne e Mario hanno fondato anche un’etichetta, la Cake & Coffe e se girate un poco per Berlino potrete trovare un piccolo negozio di loro proprietà dove potrete assistere a piccoli showcase, comprare dei dischi, quadri … bervi un caffè assaporando una buona fetta di torta.

Il trio post-punk parigino torna in Italia. Q and not You, At the Drive in, Fugazi, i Jordan racchiudono molteplici aspetti e forse solo le parole energia e immediatezza li racchiudono tutti. Dopo la pubblicazione dell’Ep “Back to the gym kid!” EP, autoprodotto per la micro-label Motoneige, registrato a Montreal con Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, GodSpeed You ! Black Emperor) and Brian Paulson (Slint, Superchunk), i Jordan presentano il loro primo album Oh no ! we are dominos ! registrato a San Francisco con Jay Pellicci (Deerhoof, Erase Errata). A settembre uscirà per MyHoney il nuovo disco dei Jordan. Stiamo organizzandoci per una promozione adeguata e fissando 4 date per Novembre in Italia. I Jordan hanno già fatto 3 diverse brevi apparizioni in Italia riscuotendo un bel successo. Prima dell’italia faranno un lungo tour negli USA (il secondo) e poi continueranno a suonare a lungo in Europa. In Italia arrivano accompagnati da Kid ikarus e Ava Petit René, due one man band molto particolari ed interessanti. Questa potrebbe essere una idea del tour:

The Compilations feature artists from all over the world including bands from USA, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Belgium, Norway, Costa Rica, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Peru, Spain, Malaysia, Latvia, Mexico, Philippines, Japan, and Russia.These compilations will be sold together as a 4 CD set for 30 USD (postage paid to anywhere in the world), There will only be 100 (4 CD) sets available and they will come hand numbered with their own artwork (glossy color artwork and case for each record). ehy!!! alex is writing, this summer is full of really exciting things and i want to tell you! During this spring we have played few shows in italy and we have done an european tour (france, germany, denmark, sweden), these gigs were in order to put away dust on our shoulders (yes, we spend a lot of time in studio, and no one clean it!). avevo dei pezzi li a fare nulla. e li ho ritrovati per caso persi nell’hD. sono stati registrati tra il 2003 e il 2006 se ricordo bene. poi insomma faccio gara con fabio a chi pubblica più dischi

un altra bella scusa sarebbe liberare posto dall’hD ma in realtà le sessions dei pezzi sono andate perse. ho solo i LR stereo.

la copertina è quella qui sopra. la stampate e la piegate a metà (piegate a metà il lato lungo) poi ci infilate il cdr e poi in una bustina. alla auchan le trovate a poco. si lo so che le scritte dietro risultano al contrario ma la vendo come scelta artistica.

ora che ne scrivo mi viene in mente anche che un pezzo di En Sommarflicka è uscito su digital kranky compilation series [...] contains 10 printed cdrs in a numbered edition of 60 each, 10 different artists on every compilation, presented in a din a1 poster display. non so che pezzo forse ne ho ancora una copia a casa.

1 maggio 2008: Epicentro Rock Festival a Leno (Bs)

L’Associazione Culturale Epicentro di Leno (Bs) propone, l’ottava edizione dell’Epicentro Rock Festival del 1 maggio. Il programma rimane invariato: nell’area dell’ex-ippodromo di Leno (Bs) avranno luogo le esibizioni di alcune delle più interessanti rock band della scena musicale indipendente italiana.

Nel pomeriggio, a partire dalle ore 14.30 circa, la manifestazione comincerà con il concerto di apertura tenuto dai The Calorifer is very Hot! che proporranno il loro indie pop storto e stralunato condito con elettronica lo-fi e con qualche cucchiaino di sperimentazione al miele; il risultato è una musica profumata e coloratissima. Subito dopo sarà la volta della musica made in Brescia dei Marydolls che promuoveranno il loro disco d’esordio “Liquirizia Brain”, la cui musica si muove tra nu-grunge e crossover. Dopo questo inizio scoppiettante il pomeriggio proseguirà con la bellissima e bravissima Beatrice Antolini, che per la prima volta a Brescia ci allieterà con la sua voce, vellutata e graffiante allo stesso tempo, e col suo piano che diffonderà un pop-folk psichedelico capace di frastornare chiunque. Il pomeriggio si concluderà con gli inglesi di Leeds The Lodger che proporranno per la prima volta in Italia il loro sound indie-pop scintillante.

La serata si aprirà alle 20.30 circa con l’esibizione di The Zen Circus che sono ormai, grazie soprattutto ai loro live, una band cardine del “sottobosco” musicale italiano. Al loro recente ultimo album, “Villa Inferno”, prodotto e suonato come elemento aggiunto da Brian Ritchie (Violent Femmes) hanno collaborato anche Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads) e le sorelle Kim e Kelley Deal ( Pixies, Breeders). Concludono la manifestazione i Disco Drive che con riff taglienti di chitarra, basso pulsante e ritmiche serrate delle due batterie, condite da tre voci che si alternano e si incrociano continuamente creano un miscuglio caleidoscopico di sonorità, che risultano tutte ben amalgamate tra di loro.

Come per le precedenti edizioni l’ingresso è gratuito, è previsto a partire dalle ore 12 un punto ristoro all’interno del festival e un ampio parcheggio nelle vicinanze.

Alla prima rotonda in Leno proseguire dritto; alla seconda rotonda svoltare a sx; alla terza rotonda proseguire dritto; alla quarta rotonda svoltare a sx, proseguire per altri 200 metri, a sx si trova l’ex-ippodromo.

da Brescia: in via della Volta prendere statale verso Manerbio/Cremona, a Bagnolo Mella seguire per Leno. All’ingresso in Leno dopo 300 metri sulla dx si trova l’ex-ippodromo.

da Cremona: A21 direzione Brescia. All’uscita di Manerbio svoltare a sx verso Leno. Alla prima rotonda in Leno proseguire dritto; alla seconda rotonda svoltare a sx; alla terza rotonda proseguire dritto; alla quarta rotonda svoltare a sx, proseguire per altri 200 metri, a sx si trova l’ex-ippodromo.
